Cyber Awareness Challenge

DESCRIPTION: The Cyber Awareness Challenge is a serious game that simulates the decisions government workers make every day as they use information systems in performing their work. Throughout the game, players complete a series of challenges in which they apply safe information assurance practices to protect Government information systems and sensitive information. Using media-rich, first-person simulations and mini-games, this highly interactive serious game allows players to apply and review key instructional topics for information assurance awareness.

Due to Federal Government requirements that training products be accessible to all users there was a strict requirement for the training to meet Section 508 compliance standards. These standards ensure that users with disabilities can access the training with minimal inconvenience. Standards required that there be a closed caption option for the hearing impaired, an audio description for the visually impaired, and that users could use the keyboard to access the onscreen buttons and menus.
