During a recent search of the internet and Twitter the Horizon Interactive Awards stumbled upon the website DesignModo.com. We were impressed by the amount of information that was on the site and how it really seemed to be a one-stop-shop for design related information. From tutorials to coding examples to articles about web design and development related topics, the website is really well done. The site also contains a "Shop" which offers only high-quality products for web designers and web developers.
So, we asked the DesignModo team to talk more about the website with us. Today, we’re speaking with Adrian of DesignModo.com
HIA: Adrian, thank you for taking the time to talk with us!
ADRIAN: Hello and thank you for the invitation to participate in this interview.
HIA: First and foremost, tell us how the site was conceived and who started it.
ADRIAN: Initially, the site was created by me based on the example of other blogs about web design. Of course, over time, it has evolved, and now, it is difficult to say that it is just a blog. We also have articles, tutorials, shop and various very necessary design elements.
HIA: What is your overall mission of the site?
ADRIAN: This site is useful for all those interested in web design, either a novice designer or a guru of his business. With our articles and products, we help designers develop their art of creating beautiful and interesting things and learn from those who create these beautiful things.
HIA: Who do you feel is your main audience?
ADRIAN: Web designers, web developers, IT entrepreneurs.
HIA: Who writes for the website?
ADRIAN: We have many authors on different subjects. Each of them is an expert in his area. It is good when there are authors who can write and share their knowledge, we are always looking for such people.
HIA: Being so close to the design industry, what trends do you feel are developing now and why. This can be specific to a particular design discipline or in a general sense.
ADRIAN: It is now very fashionable to do everything in a very minimalistic manner, and not to load the projects with unnecessary textual and visual information. Each industry has its trends, but everything is reduced to the ease of use, quality and readability.
HIA: Where do you see the site going in the future?
ADRIAN: According to the changes that we are doing, we will be developing in the direction of sales, as we are very good at it, and the feedback for our products is just shocking. Of course, we will continue to write in a beautiful and useful manner for our readers.
HIA: What has been one of the biggest challenges getting the site to where it is today?
ADRIAN: Perhaps, there has been a moment when we decided either to sell or not what had not really been sold before, because the possibility of failure was great. But I am glad that we decided to give it a try.
HIA: Where do you turn for inspiration?
ADRIAN: Everything around me inspires me. Every day, I look through a lot of information which forms new visions on various issues. Also, talking to new people can inspire new ideas and initiatives.
HIA: Do you have anything else you would like to add to our interview?
ADRIAN: I hope that my answers to all your questions were clear and that all who read this interview will learn something new about our project.
Thank you again for taking the time to be a part of our web site spotlight. We have enjoyed sharing more information about you and your website. Best of luck to you now and down the road!
